I have given up on the closed loop for now. I need to learn the exact instructions on how to create it. I wrote earlier that the problem, e.g.: with Xdrip is related to the Android security update and consists in the constant breaking of the bluetooth connection between the smartphone and the transmitter.
I put on a new sensor yesterday. It has been 10 days. I got a message that the previous sensor had expired. The change to the new one took place without a problem. I selected the new sensor, entered its code, waited 2 hours and the measurement started. I had problems with the previous one. After six days of use, there were several episodes of loss of connectivity. The message ” sensor error” appeared and no data flowed. After some time, the sensor started again until the next error. I fixed the sensor on the front on the shoulder. The error may have been due to the arm being too slim and a problem with collecting intratissue fluid. I am not sure of that yet. This was my first contact with the Dexcom G6 so I assume this could have been the case. I have the second sensor placed on my abdomen. It’s working for the second day and so far I haven’t had any problems with it.
You have to admit that CGM even has therapeutic properties. I don’t know if I need a closed loop. When operating the pump, I respond immediately to messages from the CGM. I know that for some it is a salvation however I have not yet tried it and am skeptical. How are my results with the Dexcom G6 CGM?
The chart comes from Dexcom’s CLARITY software, which I happen to use via the website. You can also install the program locally on your computer or download the app to your smartphone. I’ve specifically included a chart from my best day. This way I want to show what good results can be had (for me). First of all, the “standard deviation” – is the value of the deviation between the lowest and highest recorded glucose levels. This parameter has a huge impact on the burden on the body. The lower it is, the more we should be happy. Here 28 mg/dl. The average glucose value is 126 mg/dl. For a diabetic, it is very decent. Our fasting glucose value should not exceed 110 mg/dl. During the day I ate, drank, e.g.: coffee with milk so after that 126 mg/dl is very good. My target range is set from 70 to 180 mg/dl. The time in the range I reached 94%. 3% was too high and the last 3% was on the low side. I could definitely count this day as a success. In the last 14 days I had problems with the pump insertion. Sugars were rising but still the normoglycemic range was 69% and the standard deviation was 59 mg/dl. Let me be honest. Measuring with a glucometer two hours after a meal or when I felt sick and wanted to check myself. Jumping sugars and reacting far too late, and Dexcom G6 continuous blood glucose monitoring is a gulf. When I keep an eye on the pump’s insertion replacement days, the blood glucose curve resembles a pattern. I am thrilled with this system and will want to continue with therapy despite minor problems.
