Dexcom G6 CGM improves the lives of diabetics to a great extent. It is also dedicated to children – young diabetics. A child with diabetes carries a phone with an app for continuous glycemic monitoring. The blood glucose level in the form of a graph is visible in real time on the screen of the device. Using Dexcom Follow, the young diabetic’s results from the Dexcm G6 can be shared with five other devices. These can be parents’ phones, for example. A young diabetic is in kindergarten or school. Suddenly, his blood glucose level rises alarmingly. An alarm sounds on the parents’ phones.
They see that their child’s blood glucose result has exceeded the safe limit of 180 mg/dl. Intervention is needed. The parent makes a phone call to the support teacher. The teacher himself can also keep tabs on his charge’s blood glucose on his phone. The parent prompts the teacher to give the child 1.5 units of insulin from the pump. After half an hour, the glucose level returns to a safe value. Staying at school, going to summer camps with this system seems to be easier. As you can see, the Dexcom G6 CGM has many advantages and stimulates the imagination of diabetics.
