Non-alcoholic beer for diabetics?

I remember Bavaria from many years ago. Its taste was completely unlike beer. It was a strange drink that was a waste of money. But the world is moving forward. Last year I gave up on percentages. From time to time I buy 0.0% beer. I have my favorites. I’m talking about corporate beers that you can buy, for example: in Żabka. I definitely choose Zywiec for its deep flavor and Heineken for its refreshing power. Zywiec boasts quite an extensive family of non-alcoholic beers. They all taste good to me. I don’t forget that I’m diabetic. I take two units of insulin per beer from the pump. This is another example of the advantage of the pump over pen. I would not want to prick myself, for example: three times in a row. Let’s hope that this will change in our country sooner or later and diabetics over 26 will also get reimbursement. Last Friday, a very interesting situation prevailing in Ireland was presented by the guest of Mr. Jerzy Magiera in his weekly video series, entitled: ” Let’s talk about diabetes”. As I could learn from this broadcast, some Western countries are able to take care of diabetics. Patients suffering from selected chronic diseases are treated for free. This includes diabetics including pumps, Libra or CGM. Since quitting alcoholic beer I have lost weight. And a lot of it – seven kilograms. I started doing sports, as I wrote about in earlier posts. I feel that my health has improved. I spent two weeks in the mountains on daily bike rides. So, by the way, the strength returned ( in the legs) 🙂 From time to time, while drinking ” beer-flavored orangeade”, I wondered why I had such rebounds. Before consumption, the glucometer showed 130, and after drinking one beer more than 230. The fermentation process of non-alcoholic beer stops just before alcohol is produced. In general, even people on a weight loss diet can calmly reach for a bottle of 0.0% in the summer heat. In 100 ml we have about 20-30 kcal. This is twice as much as in percent beer. However, diabetics should be careful because this beer has a very high glycemic index ( GI=90-100). So with the amount we should be careful. In summary: 0.0% beer is advised against us. On the other hand, some beers have been given the designation of isotonic drinks. They are excellent thirst quenchers and do not contain carcinogenic ethanol. However, reaching for them a diabetic must be vigilant. Greetings,
