What should diabetics know about coronavirus?

It is not clear who can contract coronavirus, but as with normal pneumonia, the risk of contracting it is higher for the elderly, diabetics, or those with another serious illness. Diabetics can be immunocompromised if they do not control their blood glucose levels. The body has a defense mechanism, and even if a pathogen enters the body, immune cells will fight it, but it is important to keep glucose levels as normal as possible. It has been established that the most vulnerable to severe disease are those suffering from cardiovascular diseases, lung diseases, hypertension, cancer and, unfortunately, diabetics. I’m not going to write what remedies to follow, because this is mentioned non-stop in all the media. Let’s be disciplined and follow the recommendations. Coronavirus is of great concern, because we really don’t know much about it yet.
There is a lot of false information on social media, published out of ignorance or for fun. Miracle remedy vendors are also preying on our fears. At patient.gov.pl we can find answers to many of our questions about the coronavirus.
