Today, a short post in which I provide first-hand information on the topic of unawareness of hypoglycemia and the related topic of driver’s license.
I learned that in case we opt for the reimbursed FreeStyle Libre 2, the information about not being aware of hypoglycemia does not apply and we do not have to inform anyone about it.
Dexcom G6 reimbursement, on the other hand, is linked to a doctor’s information about not being aware of hypoglycemia. This is a condition. But such an entry in the driving document will appear only when we apply for the issuance of a new driver’s license. So if someone has a timely driver’s license then when issuing a new one, he is obliged to inform the communications office of unawareness of hypoglycemia, and that he is under the control of a continuous glycemic monitoring system.
